The Quickest Way To Get Cheap Sustained Website Traffic

During a recent radio interview, one of the callers asked for
several ways to get fast, cheap, sustained website traffic. She
added on top of that “tall order” that she didn’t want to use
pay-per-clicks!

Digging deeply into my toolkit of traffic generation techniques
that had actually work beautifully for me, I suggested joint
ventures and article marketing. Then I had to admit that article
marketing often doesn’t produce an immediate flood of traffic
but that it can be sustained and highly targeted.

Joint ventures get you fast and cheap traffic because you’re
arranging for those who already have the attention of your ideal
customers to send them to you. You’re convincing those who
already have the trust and respect of your ideal customers to
point out to them that you can help to solve their pressing
problems.

My “answer” to the question of the quickest way to generate
sustained, inexpensive website traffic still is joint ventures.
As a joint venture broker, and Executive Director of The
International Association of Joint Venture Brokers, I’ve seen
first-hand how large, successful joint ventures with just the
right partners can deliver 7-figure days.

However, the joint ventures that so typify product launches in
the Internet marketing niche often miss delivering real
“sustained” traffic. They are mostly “flash in the pan”
launches where the traffic flow dies-off even faster than it
builds up.

A better option for generating inexpensive, sustained, targeted
website traffic is an affiliate program, or strategic
partnerships. The strategic partnerships can even BE an affiliate
program, where the partners have agreed to promote certain
products within that affiliate program contributed by various
members of the alliance.

In ultra-competitive niches, such as Internet marketing, where
you often see dozens of new product launches per week, strategic
alliances are almost a “requirement. ” It’s sometimes so
difficult just to get noticed that the secret to breaking through
the clutter is TEAMWORK.

You often need to find a group of likeminded individuals, and
then work to jointly develop, launch and promote group products
and projects.

An example of a product launched using this model is the ebook
“20 Ways To Make $100 Per Day Online.” This ebook was written
by members of The Internet Marketing Inner Circle
(http://TIMIC. ORG), then group members created the buzz that got
the product noticed and eventually started other affiliates
promoting it.

The “20 Ways” ebook had a viral twist to it too though, and
that’s what created and will sustain it’s growth. That viral
aspect is the customer-only affiliate program. A customer is
eligible to register as an affiliate, and then use their
affiliate link to sell the ebook at 100% commission. The 20 Ways
Ebook was indeed launched via a strategic alliance, an affiliate
program, and viral marketing. It’s a launch formula that you
could easily model, and use to generate a steady stream of quick,
inexpensive traffic.

Some would look at the “20 Ways” ebook though and ask “What’s
the point - if you then give away 100% commission?” The answer
is that you need to build-in backend sales. Add links to your
product that drive repeat customer back to you, or offer
additional products to those customers on your download pages.

When I further contemplate the question of the fastest, easiest,
cheapest ways to generate sustained website traffic, I would
still have to say joint ventures… and an affiliate program. An
affiliate program fits the “inexpensive” criteria because you
only pay for performance. If the traffic doesn’t convert to
sales, it costs you absolutely nothing. Any costs involved in an
affiliate program comes from revenue that you wouldn’t otherwise
have anyway.

The only twist missing from the “20 Ways” model that I would
incorporate in hindsight… is to perhaps make some part of the
ebook rebrandable. Perhaps use software such as Viral Document
Toolkit to allow customer who buy resale rights (as an upsell) to
change links within the ebook. No kind of resale rights are
offered for the 20 Ways ebook, but it is a twist that you might
want to consider for one of your products.

Anyway… joint ventures, an affiliate program, and releasing
viral rebrandable products are all proven methods of quickly,
easily, and cheaply setting in motion a sustainable flow of
traffic!

Affiliate Marketing Commissions With eBay Made Easy

One of the easiest affiliate programs to make your first
commissions with is the eBay affiliate program.

Here are the three steps you need to take to get started easily.
They are relatively simple to do or have done for you.

1. Set up your Wordpress Blog

WordPress is a blogging platform similar to Blogger, Drupal,
TypePad/Moveable Type, LiveJournal, Blosxom etc. There are a host of options. These blogging platforms all allow users to quickly and easily post thoughts, ideas, snippets of text - whatever - to a website simply by typing into in a simple web-based form.

The number of marketers pushing Wordpress past it’s original design as a platform for journalling is increasing steadily.

Sites built with Wordpress underlying can hold thousands of pages of content and they are very easy to update - you don’t even have to know HTML. It’s really as easy as using a word-processor once it’s all set up.

Wordpress offers an install that takes less than five minutes if you want to do it yourself. Plus there are individuals who will do script installations very cheaply. Many internet / affiliate marketing forums will have a resident installer who will undertake this job for you.

2. Post good content and tasteful eBay ads to your blog

One of the problems with most regular websites is that they
become stale and lose some of their relevance because of their static nature.

Using the blog format however, it is much easier to keep your website ‘fresh’ - and the search engines love fresh material.

eBay provides a tool called the eBay editor kit that you can use to place eBay ads easily on regular websites. Unfortunately this tool doesn’t do anything to add valuable content that is visible to the search engine spiders as it is written in javascript.

What you need instead then is a Wordpress plugin (a file or two that you drop into your Wordpress installation) which will display the eBay listings as regular HTML instead of javascript. This adds search engine fodder to your blog and hence improves your chances of getting higher ranking in the search engines.

Using a Wordpress plugin is also much easier than trying to get the eBay Editor kit to play nicely within the body of Wordpress blog posts.

3. Promote your blog

Many blog owners put up their blog and populate them with
articles and advertising but then fall far short on this step.

You must spend the time to get good backlinks to your site!

At the minimum you should try

* social bookmarking your most useful pages
* listing your blog in directories
* article marketing

Just these three activities will get your blog off to a great
start attracting visitors to your site. The relevant words that are generated by the eBay ads(http://www.abizthat works.com/ ebaycommissions1 01) will be picked up by the search engines and visitors searching for those words will be directed to your site. When they click through and make a purchase on eBay or register for an account you pick up
commissions.

That’s the three steps in a nutshell. You can be up and actually making money as an affiliate marketer with eBay in quick time. If you decide to take the plunge… happy affiliate marketing with eBay and enjoy those commissions!

My Secrets Of ‘Forum Marketing’

My Secrets Of ‘Forum Marketing’
Copyright (c) 2007 Willie Crawford
Willie Crawford Incorporated
http://WillieCrawfo rd.com/ezine.html

If you visit the popular “Internet
Marketing Warriors”
discussion forum, you’ll notice
that I have nearly 7500 posts!
If you were to visit any of
several dozen other online forums
and
discussion boards, you’d also
discover thousands of my posts.

The reason that I have so many
posts to online forums and
discussion boards is that I have
found them a very effective
marketing tool. I use online
forums to:

1) Allow potential customers and
joint venture partners to
actually get a feel for who I am.

2) Share my knowledge on topics
that I understand, while at the
same time generating links back to
my sites.

3) Get quick answers to questions
I have and quick feedback on
ideas that I have.

4) Conduct market research -
investigating the problems,
concerns, needs, wants, and quirks
of my markets.

5) Getting a feel for potential
clients and joint venture
partners.

6) Getting feedback on products
and services that I’m
considering purchasing, marketing
or developing.

As you can see, forums can be very
useful for many purposes.
Since I am in business online, I
think of much of what I do on
forums as “marketing.” In that
regards, there are certain rules
that I follow and recommend that
you do too.

Let’s look at some of my “secret”
or often unspoken rules for
forum marketing.

1) Don’t be anonymous. People buy
from people that they know,
like and trust. If they don’t even
know who you are, can’t find
a link to your sites, and have no
clue who they’re dealing with,
they can’t “know” you… let alone
like and trust you. Use
your real name in your profiles,
include links to your websites,
and include a photo. You don’t
need to tell them everything
about yourself, but people do buy
from their friends, and I’m
certain that you know “who” your
friends actually “are.”

2) Be courteous. For some reason,
people are often ultra-rude,
more aggressive, and just plain
“nasty” in online interactions.
The person that you’re being mean
to may be an ideal customer or
joint venture partner. Why would
you kill the relationship
before it can even begin. Also
beware that others observe your
interactions and take permanent
(subconscious notes).

3) Consider the long-term
consequences of your posts. When
you
make a comment, accusation, or
attack someone on a public
discussion forum, your words often
become a “permanent” part of
the search engines databases. So,
even if you later apologize or
point out that you were mistaken,
when someone searches for a
person or company’s name in the
search engines, they may
encounter the inappropriate remark
that you made. The title of
that post is often the title that
show in the search engine
results! Many people will look no
further after seeing your post
“headlined” in the search engines!

There’s really no easy, effective
way to undo the damage once
you’ve posted something to the
database.

4) Don’t forget to leave ways for
people to contact you. If the
forum allows a signature file, use
one. If the forum allows a
profile, set one up. Use a
username that tells who you are,
and
not something that you’ll later
want to change :-)

5) Optimize your posts. Given that
search engines DO index your
posts, you want to make sure that
your keywords are in the right
places, such as the title of the
posts (and maybe in hyper-linked
text). Busy forums are frequently
spidered by the search engines
and are therefore an excellent way
to get your pet projects
indexed!

6) Use images in your posts. Some
forums allow you to post an
image link underneath your post.
Where that’s allowed, you often
want to include a relevant image.
Images naturally draw the eye
to where you want to focus your
readers’ attention… the link
that you want them to click on.

7) Participate in popular threads.
Many forums give you the count
of how many views and/or posts a
given thread has. It’s human
nature to want to be “a part of”
something popular. So people
have a tendency to read threads
that lots of others have read,
and to post to threads that lots
of others have posted to.
Therefore, it follows that if you
post to one of these threads
you’re more likely to be a part of
the noticed conversations
than if you post to one that ONLY
you posted to or read.

8) Don’t try to be deceptive. Many
forums allow the moderators
or visitors to readily identify
forum users through features such
as IP tracking. That means that
when you use multiple identities
on a forum to make your topic
appear “more popular,” you are
often only deluding yourself.
People are alot smarter than some
of us give them credit for, and
they often quickly see through
such ruses.

You should acknowledge that if you
can figure out a “sneaky”
way to get an unfair advantage on
a discussion forum, then those
who’ve been a part of that
community and using the same
software
for countless years have probably
seen it all. So, your tricks
are painfully obvious to them -
even when they politely don’t
“call you on it.” Instead the
community will simply ignore you
until you go away.

9) Post often but watch how much
time you spend on forums.
Participating in the discussion at
online forums has generated
countless clients, subscribers,
business partners, and friends.
That has made it a very worthwhile
investment for me. As long as
you don’t use participating in
forums as a means of
procrastinating, it can be very
helpful for you too.

Using my secret forum marketing
tactics, I have built a steady
flow of business and traffic to my
websites. It’s also an
excellent way to build some real
relationships. Frankly, it’s
not even in my top 10 most
